3D Studio Max

This semester at ITT Tech I began taking an introductory course to 3D animation. This course mainly deals with the creation of three dimensional objects and not so much the animation of them yet. We have been using a program called 3D studio max. Overall after two months, I think I have a pretty good handle on the basics of the program, but I do have plenty of things I would like to learn but haven’t yet.

The program has all of the tools you need to create a three dimensional scene or object. You can use lights and cameras to influence the overall look and atmosphere of your work space. The lights effect what is visible in your scene, and the cameras let you choose the angle from which your scene is presented. You can also add material to your objects, bricks, cloth, metal, etc.

My final project for the class is to design a hotel room with 16 objects ranging from chairs, tables, couches, etc. I then have to apply materials to the objects and add lights and a camera to show the room in the best possible atmosphere.

Homer, Funky

Román Cortés made a great Homer with CSS, and I tried “selecting all” which made this wacky image:
